Dealers cant stack bets in split games

Noticed this the last couple sessions in 6/12 O8...dealers cant stack up bets of mutiple players before they pull the chips to the center of the table.  they have to drag the chips in then (re)stack them.  Ive noticed a consderable slowdown in the hands.  I am assuming this is the same rule for all split games...
