The buy-in for the 1/2 game was recently raised a bit from $200.00 to $250.00
Not sure why, other than the bet cap is $250.00
Seems that if they were to raise the buy-in amount to bring in some action, that they would make it higher, like Gilas 1/2 game $750.00

I tell ya the 1/2 games at CAZ are getting so nitty its painful

I tend to disagree with this.  Having some guys sitting there with a stack of green chips makes players play scared with their buy-in, even if they only have $200 in front of them.  It is irrational, but that is the truth.  The larger the buy-in, the quicker the best players get the money, and the quicker the bad players lose their's.  The smaller the buy-in cap, usually the better the game.

How often do you play the 1/2?  what shift?

explain the difference then in why the 1/2 at Gila is so much better than the one at CAZ.

They don't allow green chips in the 1/2 games any longer barring the occasional one picked up from a promotion.( same in the structured games up to 8/16)
Stacks of red chips don't scare players, it brings them in, there is  reason you want smaller( and MORE) denomination chips on the table. PERCEPTION... smaller chips = bigger appearing pots = ACTION.

Additionally an increased buy-in will bring different players, perhaps down from the 3/5 game who want to "gamble up" a bit because there will be more chips on the table to win maybe it will affect the 3/5 games, but they need to adjust THERE as well, change the blinds to 2/5 to emulate the NL games in Vegas, increase the buy in.

Players will gravitate to where they are most comfortable, and that's where you want them, as long as they are in the room playing.

Its as simple as just running a game or two with increased buy-ins and different blinds in addition to whats there

perhaps 1/1/2 or 2/2 or even 1/3  with a $500.00 buy-in...change the drop structure back to "normal".
