I know it goes in cycles because they buy new cards, and put all of them into play, and throw out the old ones, so when it is a few days or a week away from them putting new cards into play, the old cards get very very ratty, and frankly, they were unplayable last night.

At my 20/40 table, we had 3 set-ups in a half an hour, and with the third set-up, we actually had to start picking cards out of the new set-up and replacing them with cards from the last setup because 5-10% of the cards the marking in the center on the backs were worn off.  So after spending a good 10 minutes on set-ups and still in the process of trying to put together a clean deck without marks on them, we had a dealer change, and I asked the floor for a freeroll since we were on setup #3.  He said "nice try" like I was joking with him.  I pressed him further, and he said, no freeroll, so I racked up and left.

We are paying $126 an hour to play there and we can't get some decks without marks on them.

COME ON.

If my memory serves me correct they use Kems at the casino?  I pay $12 a deck for these so at bulk pricing I'm sure they can afford to replace each deck daily as this is the industry standard.
I am moving to Phoenix this fall.  Anyone looking for a good employee?  I have no college degree and I sold cars for 7 1/2 years.

This is a problem there, the decks generally seem to be in worse shape than any other casino I've played at.  Still, this problem would be more expensive to fix than getting a few fly-swatters.

I inquired about the card situation this a.m....it seems that they are scheduled to change out the entire stock on Wednesday.

Thanks for the info.  Ugh, another week of this.  At least I am busy and can't make it in until Mondayish next week, so I will have to put up with them either on Mon. or Tues.  Sigh.

Aack Thbbbt

Nicodiv was right on..all the cards were brand spanking new on Wednesday.

So in about a month, we will be in the same situation again.

Quite honsestly I am shocked that this conversation needed to take place.  Having a perfect set up of cards at all times is poker room management 101.
