I know this may not affect many of you, but it is very good for me and the other high limit players.  A few weeks ago I spoke to Kent and asked him about player boxes/lock boxes, whatever they are called.  We were standing near the cage next to the white board where they list the dealer table order, and he said they were planning on building a room for that right there, and it should be available in a few months, and he would let the high limit players know when they could get on a list for it.

He also assured me that the new room they are building will have them as well.  This is a very welcome change, since walking to your car, driving home usually at dark, and going to your house regularly with $5000+ is not all that safe.  Now there will be boxes we can store chips and cash and not have to stop at the cashier every night, just store purple chips and maybe a rack or two of browns in there to be ready.

This is very positive, and should improve the safety of high limit players.

Standard brag post about having $5000.

I do agree though that this is good for the poker room.  A few months ago I wondered by the 75/150 mix game while I was waiting for a seat and one of the regulars, David something or other (won the AZ state championship a couple years ago) was standing behind his seat, pretty close to me.  I politely asked him if they were playing ante-ante or 8 or better?  He said I dunno and then sat down, said something to the dealer, and then she looked at me and ask me to leave the area.

Naturally, I was kind of offended and thought he was a total piece of [censored].  I wasn't that close to the table at all and I had asked him a simple question.  I said something about this to one of the players at my table when I sat down and he said, well, the guy is probably just a little nervous right now, somebody followed him home and robbed him at gun point for 9k the other night.  I spoke with a high limit player whom I'm good friends with and he confirmed this.

Anyways, point of the story, it is dangerous and players safety has been threatened before, so this is definetely a step in the right direction for the poker room.

Good thing I don't have to be worried about being robbed since I haven't put together a consistent win since Mid Feb.

And I still haven't heard any updates on this.

That's my normal plan of action.  I just lose all the money I bring with me to the Casino.

Looks like the basic framing is up for the area that will house the player boxes.
Its going in and including the last window of the cage towards the top section along with an area of that wall.  It will stick out quite extensively in to the pathway to the top section board.
