As for the OP story, all I can say is "that's poker" (nice story btw)  :azn:
You will be an outcast at the tables if you continue to do this and people pick up on it.  The first time you decline a chop after you have been known to chop, you will get major complaints, and people will just never chop with you anymore.  If you ever play the higher limit games, you have zero chance to pull this off since people there pay attention and remember, and the player pool is smaller and plays more regularly.  So you could probably get by at 3/6 fine, but get up to 6/12 or higher, and you will regret your decision.
