100,000 promo for grand opening!1

Quick question for regs who might know? 

I heard that there will be 100,000 worth of promo dollars beginning April 15th in the new room.  That sounded GREAT until I heard that this money will be coming from an additional rake in the jackpot games starting nest week. 

Could that be true, the new promotion will be paid by the players in advance.  Rake is going to 4 and 2.   I think a few of the players might resent this.  This is just a rumor I heard but, I would appreciate any feedback fro those who migh know.

Wow if that is true.  They have had the rake go to 3 and 2 in the past from 4 and 1.  That would really suck if they took it to 4 and 2, but I have heard absolutely nothing about it.

I have only heard unofficially.  On one hand this is a VERY well run room with no increase in quite a while.    On the other hand, no one likes a rake increase, even a temporary one.   I believe it will be implemented with very few noticing much, except for the 6-12 and 8-16 players.

I heard talk about the increase as well... and though we never like to see more taken from the pot, to be fair, it isn't really a RAKE increase its an increase in the drop for the promotional fund which does in fact come back to the players 100%, the house isn't making anything.  Don't know for sure if this is a permanent increase or not.

Well I know that it is in the rules that they don't have to pay 100% back.  And some of the ways they give it back helps them out for sure.  When they add money to tourneys, it comes from this fund and they have the crazy rake to offset the money they are adding.

It was my understanding that in fact they must give back 100 % of promotion funds collected, i recall seeing somewhere that this is monitored by the state in some manner. ill look in to that, i dont think they can even take an "administrative fee".

Yes, the add-ons to the tournaments are funded by this fund, and so are many other promotions...hence why it is called the "player promotional fund"( as it reads on the ticker above the main board) and not a "jackpot fund"
They are clear with how their promotions are funded that on their fliers.
