I have two pet peeves  at CAZ games.

First is the players who want to talk to their opponents while making a decision, usually at 5-150 or 10-150 but I've  even witnessed it at 8-16. Do you want a call? Do you have a pair? The list of inane questions goes on and on. I'm getting pretty good at just calling time on these bozos. I'll give them 30 seconds or so first, but they are slowing the game and making it more boring for everyone.

But if a player has a legitimately tough decision and asks for time without chatting up their opponent, I'll hold off calling the clock for a few minutes. I just don't think someone who is goinig to waste time trying to chat up their opponent for "tells" deserves a long leash.

My second pet peeve is guys who ask if you want to check it down after another opponent has been raised out of the pot. It's not a serious breach of etiquette, but it can hurt the game because tourists and other occasional players can begin to fear the regulars are teaming up against them.

Even worse, yesterday two players agreed to chop the pot after one had raised out the other players on the flop. This is clearly unethical and bordering on collusion, even though in this case the players clearly did not know each other. The second player says will you chop it if I call, and the first player agreed. The dealer told them this wasn't allowed, but the first player still shipped half the chips over to the second after winning the pot. The floor was called and explained it carefully to the other player, but never were the chips returned.

When you see unethical or bordline behavior in your game, speak up. Otherwise don't complain when it becomes rampant.

Your concerns about the 20 questions "game" many players seem to think is "standard" is valid, it gets worse everyday you are right on point that the players who speak UP will help to alleviate the issues.

Is unacceptable, especially the fact the the floor didn't insist that the chips were returned.
