by the looks of things it may be more than a few weeks.  Seems there may be some delays in getting the money back.  red tape i suppose and nothing but player speculation and ambiguous information from the poker sites.

I still see it a few weeks out until the online money starts to get into players bank accounts.

144 entries, in the Wednesday night MTT  though less the Tuesday, which is the norm, it is still more than usual for Wednesday.

Going to try to find out what the average has been for each night over the last year and see how the numbers compare.

There were more live games during sand after the tournaments both nights, and the games seemed to hold stronger for a longer period of time.

Now that the FBI has agreed to allow the release of player funds, there may be more players trying to parlay that money in live action.( once they get it)

There were 175 entries in the Tuesday night MTT, that's the biggest number we've seen for a while for that tournament and this at the start of the "slowdown" for the summer.
well see how things adjust over the coming weeks and after the WSOP is over.

The live games seem to have quite a number of new faces and the room seems busier, so far.  Your short term/long term observation is logical, but i wonder if the winning players will have the patience to tolerate one game at a time.
A winning player online, may not be successful live, they may just not be able to adjust or have the patience to play live.  ( adjusting from multi-tabling 5-40 games to playing one hand at a time has to be difficult).

I believe I was at the same table when that happened the other night and I did see many people upset about the table change with no board brining the table to not "full" but I tried to explain the idea that if the table change brought the table to less than 6 I could see a problem but moving from 9 to 8 to me was no big deal...

My 2 cents..

It will clearly be for the good of the casino in the short run.

But if the new players who play the most were winning players online who now need live to make their living, long term it will likely hurt the games since there are now more winning players introduced into the population, killing the bad players quicker and making the games tougher that the slight winners who don't like losing money will now be losing players and will simply drop down stakes or stop playing.  Hopefully I am wrong, but I think long term it is bad for the games.

They are two different jackpot pools now.

And you really don't want your opponents playing T993 chasing a jackpot?  Come on now, let's be logical.

Any time your opponents make a mistake chasing a jackpot and you don't make a similar mistake, you benefit.

It should at least bring a variety of new faces and new money to the room.  The learning curve adapting to live should at least be entertaining to watch.

Regardless of how the issue works out in the end, i believe it will take a significant amount of time before U.S players will be able to play online again.
Last night there were already quite a number of new faces in the poker room, many of them made comments referencing their inability to play online.

It will certainly be interesting to see how this affects the games in the in the CAZ poker room.
Hopefully it will be for the good, we shall see.

2 get rid of jackpot in O8.  The jackpot rules for O8 basically mirror holdem rules, problem is 08 is a signifactly different game.  wereas in holdem you usuallly want to play pocket 5s through 9s and almost always want to play 10s or higher in  O8 you are or you should be dumping a bunch of hands that contain these pairs and also the various suited connectors (playable in holdem)that lead to the uber rare st8 flush vsof a kind for jackpot.

I"ll admit i'm ranting and I sound cheap but it is not fair to be forced to pay for a jackpot system that benefits holdem players while playing O8.  Fwiw i hate jackpot while playing holdem too, if i wanted to scratch lottery tickets i could drive 2mins to circle k instead of 1/2 hour to the casino
