Title: Betting lines
Post by: Bazinga on December 27, 2010, 05:02:46 PM
Any thoughts on the betting lines on the tables at Casino Arizona or the fact that they have the lines on the tables but don't use them to enforce anything?

The betting line "rules" as explained by Jack McClelland of the Bellagio may be focused towards tournament play.  I think there is some merit to the points he makes for application in live play, specifically wherein once a player has gone over the line and started to cut chips they cannot then decide to bet more than they have in their hand the amount must be stated prior to crossing the line.

Thoughts or opinions in general ?

I have been told the betting lines are used to assist the dealers and give the players a guide where to place their bets, but it still hurts the shorter dealers when players in the 2/3 and 7/8 seats barely place their bets across the line.

It seems that the betting rules are kinda self policed at CAZ, and people take a stand against angle shooters.

i think speciffic consistent guidelines need ot be instituted, more than once i have seen players come across the line, cut off several stacks , for example, two stacks of 4 chips($40)  with a single chip left in their hand and just before the place it on the two other stacks they look at the dealer and state some much larger bet...like $175.00
