I wish this had started already, I just bubbled the morning tourney.
Haha. Hate to laugh at your misfortune, but the timing of that is funny...but it is better to bubble 3 times and take a top 3 place the 4th time then get 10th, 9th, 9th, and 7th because you played to cash.
My killer streak continues! This morning, with 12 players left, I push all-in for 9200 with KK (BB was 1500). Dude calls me down with a pair of fives and naturally, hits his set right out of the gate. I guess 12th is better than 11th in some ways so things are looking up.
I hate poker. I might go back tonight to see if I can bubble the evening tourney also.
Well, went back again. Won a bit playing some 6/12 omaha, then holdem and played in the evening tournament. Was doing really well for a while but for some reason I started making some really bad decisions and ended up busting out before the first break. I generally prefer that to going out on a beat (although the hand I actually was eliminated on was a beat). At least I can look at the bad plays I made and the reasons I made them and hopefully prevent them from happening next time.
So I took some time off the morning tournaments but went back today. I finished 13th. I've now finished in the top 13 in 3 of my last 4 morning tournaments without making the money.
I need to get a punching bag.
This is getting ridiculous. I just finished 15th. I've now gotten in the top 15 without making the top 10 in 4 of my last 5 morning tournaments.
I'm trying to figure out what's going on. Perhaps I somehow am tilting or making mistakes for some reason when we get close to the money? Maybe it's just bad luck. It doesn't seem like it's bad play on my part...I just seem to be getting into bad situations lately.
In some respects, I feel good that I'm consistently making it so far but it stings having nothing to show for it.
Well, I'm still trying my hardest to qualify for this thing! I just finished 12th in the AM tourney. I'll get there one of these days.
Finally qualified with my 11th place finish this morning. I am not sure if I'll be in arizona when they have this though.
