I will be moving to Arizona in about a year and I am interested in becoming a poker dealer. Does anyone know if Arizona has restrictions against a person convicted of a felony working in a casino? I know that some states do. Any help here will be greatly appreciated.

Your best bet would be to contact the state gaming board to be sure, but i believe a felony excludes you from consideration for a gaming license in AZ.

Thanks. I guess that would make the most sense.

If you have been convicted of a felony it'll be very tough to become a dealer in the state of Arizona.  I passed my dealer certification about 2 months ago and I know both directors from Fort McDowell and Casino Arizona look down on felony convictions or things like bankruptcy.  The background check alone takes 6 weeks if you get hired any casino here in the state too, so they'll be checking EVERYTHING before they hire anyone aboard.  I wish you the best of luck regardless buddy.

Anyone know why there is such an issue with a BK?  Are they worried that people with an unfortunate credit rating will be more apt to steal?  My ex wife ruined my credit and I had to filel for bankruptcy several years ago, but I have never stolen a thing.  Does that mean I can not be a dealer?
I am moving to Phoenix this fall.  Anyone looking for a good employee?  I have no college degree and I sold cars for 7 1/2 years.

I don't think a bankruptcy is going to exclude you.
I think they are looking for current, ongoing credit and collection issues that you aren't taking any responsibility for.

AZ has one of the toughest background checks in the casino industry from what I am told.  I know that to work at CAZ you need to fill out about a 40 page form about your entire life.  Felonies and even some misdemeanours would exclude you.
