What mistakes have you seen made in the new Gila room that CAZ can adjust, prevent or continue in their new room.
No $2 bottle water
Better Lighting
Keep the food quality up.

Those are the only real complaints that could be long term that I have heard of so far.  The others I have heard deal with being understaffed, not allowing anyone else in, etc.  which will obviously wane over time.

Put a restroom in the poker room, or really close to it!

If CAZ is going to implement an electronic board system and i cant imagine they wouldnt...
Make sure the board system works before you open the room.  Run it through its paces prior to opening.
Make sure you have at least one person on every shift that is proficient in how it works and how to resolve issues; None of this " the guy that knows how to fix it isn't here right now" stuff Ive seen at other properties ( Not Gila specific)

Hell, they could open on time.

Rumor has it that the project is stalled and delayed again.

I would add...DON'T have the "racetrack" area running around the inside edge of the rail of the tables.

There are only about 30 of those tableside , well, tables for players to use while they eat..guess they didn't think many people would be eating at the same time.
Servers are having to go halfway across the casino to fetch drinks.

Caz should adjust the buy-in limits in the spread limit games.
Specifically the 1/2 game
There is a pretty significant difference in the games between CAZ and Gila and i think it has a lot to do with the maximum we can start with.

CAZ, cap of $200:  Games consist most of the time of grinders and risk averse players looking for "that one hand".  The buy-in limit prevents others who may want to come in a gamble a bit from playing because ,it just isn't "worth" it, the stacks aren't large enough to warrant coming down from the 3/5 game.  majority of buy-ins are in the 80-120 range. s loy of players just wanting to "take a shot" at a "NL" (type) game
As games break through the night players move into short games with small stacks, games remain weak.

Gila, cap of $750:  Much larger starting stacks many times when the games start, more loose aggressive play, larger stacks warrant risk and bring in action.   As the games break and converge, the stacks on the final tables of the evening can get really large, games are good.

If anything do a test, try a bigger buy-in for a while and SEE how it affects the game( and other games, I.E the 3/5)

I don't know if I agree with that between the stack sizes.  The larger the stack size, normally the more grinders and good players that are in the game, making the games worse.  Would someone who has never played before want to sit in a game with $200 when everyone else has $700+?  They would be scared out of their mind.  They would rather sit in a game where most people have between $100-$300 and one person has a big stack.

Also, Gila River's menu is a piece of [censored].  It is on a piece of paper, and the prices look crazy, and nowhere on there does it say food is half price when it is.

It MAY not be the stacks sizes, that was merely the initial thought and the primary difference i saw between the CAZ / Gila games.
I for one would like to see them try an increased buy-in in the 1/2 game to see how it affects the play( over the course of several weeks at least until "word" gets out).

Other thoughts/suggestions?

Perhaps they should run both... have the "regular" buy-in tables and then a single table of 1/2 with a higher buy-in so players have a choice.
Dont lower the minimum that's for sure( $100 now).
