 When going "all-in", often players will attempt to hold on to an individual chip(most often) or chips that are less than a full bet. Many times they believe they can use one chip as a card protector and that it doesn't "count"

Players should understand that these chips must play and be placed in to the pot in jackpot games, this includes all .50 chips used as antes in stud games.

The exception to this rule is in non-jackpot games(Top Section) where the chips must add up to the smallest chip normally used in the game.
In red chip ($5) games, increments of less that $5 (white) chips do not play.
(spread limit games are jackpot games and all chips play)

In brown chip ($10) games increments of less than $10 ( combination of white or red) do not play.

In green chip ($25) games increments of less than $25 ( combination of white or red, brown) do not play.
