Was anyone else in the room yesterday when the Jackpot was hit on a 3/6 table but TT folded on the river to a check raise?

River action was: Guy with 99 bets, before next guy (TT) could act, guy with the Ace announces a check raise out of turn.  TT Folded his hand.

Everyone at the table didn't seem too happy... the room got really loud for a bit.

not me. more details please.

the only time i hit jackpot (at my table) was when A26 hit flop, A7 checked, JJ checked, turn A, bet & call, river A, bet & call. i found it hard to believe the JJ called the turn but hey it worked out for the table.

I wasn't at the table, but that was the story from a dealer going around.  I was playing a 5-150 game in the next row (Table 26).  The jackpot hand was somewhere in the high teens.

After the hand was over, everyone (the people standing around the table) were mad at the player who folded the Tens.  He responded by saying he thought he needed to have face cards to qualify for the Jackpot.  I don't know why the guy with the ace would check raise on the river anyway.  I would think after the floor gets called over (for the jackpot hand) people wouldn't be betting so dumb....  who knows.

but from what I know of the story.  The ace checked on the river (like he should have) and the player with pocket nines bet.  Before the pocket tens could act, the player with the ace announced a raise.

if anyone should get a KITN it's the guy with the ace raising the board for another $6.00 bet when he could have won a Jackpot.

oh well, it leaves it for the rest of us to win now.

The story I heard went like this:
Board was 3 aces with a 2 3, not sure how they came out.

The 9's bet out on the river, the ACE raised and the 10's folded ( and showed the hand off as he did it).
The guy with the ACE plain went OFF on the guy who folded the tens.

10's claimed no knowledge of the jackpot at all, not that he thought he needed face cards.

The Jackpot was at  40,000.00

I also heard that the 10's said he would have called one bet.

9's should have checked and let the Ace bet, what was his thought process here?
OR
Ace should have just called the bet from the 9's( because there was not a counterfeiting card on board)

Can you really blame the 10's for not knowing about the jackpot?  ( how do you ask about something you don't know about)

IF, in fact, the ACES check raised out of turn, it is HIS fault he got screwed.

You are right, I can't fault a player who isn't aware of the BBJP reqs too much.  I've certainly been at tables where I wasn't sure of all the reqs for jackpots and promos at the table.  I think the player with the ace is at fault but also the player with the 99.
